Lovely lichen!
I’m going to throw off gloomy thoughts about the weather! I’m going to celebrate with lichen! Out for a walk yesterday, the sun made it look like gold and silver where it grew on stones and trees! It hung like gilded chains!It glowed like amber! In all shapes and patterns!

Driving across the flat Somerset landscape, heading towards the pointed hill called Crook’s Peak, and the rolling shoulder of the Mendip Hills called Wavering Down. thought I glimpsed a mass of lichen on the hillside. … but it’s gorse, of course!
