is that first one a pic of like the muddy sand near the ocean or a river at low tide?

Yes! We live on the estuary of the River Severn in Somerset, England. Another river, the Avon, also flows into the sea here so although we do have sand it is quite muddy because of the rivers – you ought to have a prize for guessing that!

my prize is just knowing it. i see that same stuff on the beach near me all the time. sometimes small fish are trapped in there until the tide comes back.

We don’t get many small fish – a few shells and seaweed, that’s about it… now in Ireland the tidal pools are just swarming with life! You might guess Ireland is a favourite place of mine!
