Squash seeds – don’t waste them!

Am I so mean or is it just the way i was brought up, not to waste anything?
I bought a butternut squash yesterday and today I made it into soup… I peeled it and the peel went into the compost bin; it will rot down and be perfect for potting seedlings next spring. The squash went into the soup… and the seeds… went into the oven with a little olive oil and some sea salt.

    To save time and avoid peeling I cut in half, scoop out the seeds and replace opening with water/butter. Cover with paper towel and microwave for 14 minutes or so. The squash is soft and you can scoop it out and discard the rind.
