Calendars

Calendars.. I really love them (especially if I can spell the word correctly… another of my dyslexic moments) My husband not only always buys me one of Northern ireland, but he always makes me one too using his own photos. I never look at any f the pictures until the first day of the month, and with the one he buys for me, I don’t look at all the pictures on the back. The first of every month is always a surprise for me!

Supposing I had to do a calendar for him…

I too love calendars and always end up with more than I need as I can’t resist buying them. So far for 2013 I ‘ve got a David Hockney calendar based on his exhibition earlier in the year, I calendar of the Basque country where we spent our main holiday and the calendar produced by Duncan Andrews, Elaine’s husband. He’s a keen photographer and has catured some beautiful and interesting images in and around the Médoc where they’ve been living for the past 11years. My step-mother-in-law (is there sich a word?) always gives me a Dr Kershaw’s calendar with paintings by David Ford the local artist. All these before I see tempting offers in the sales! Never mind, at least they’ll remind me what day it is as nowadays I’m ofren in danger of not knowing – no need when you’re retitired.

Bari went to the Hockney exhibition too, but he didn’t get a calendar. We used to always get the David Ford’s for Dr Kershaw’s – in fact I kept the last one we had when we moved down here! I must look up Duncan’s work, I’m guessing I’ll find him on-line!

I love calendars too — like you, both wonderful ones from far away, or very personal ones (I treasured one made up in our local Riverdale Park one year, featuring the animals in the barn that we all know and love…) But aren’t you disciplined, not flipping ahead to see all the photos at once!
