I am fascinated by names, first names, second names, nick names, names of villages and places, names from other countries… they just intrigue me.
I was thinking about waves of names and if I just think about my parents generation… what names would eb rare these days which were common then, say between 1910 and 1925? How about these suggestions:

- Harold

- Adeline

Some names are making a come back, for example Arthur is very popular now, and so is Harry, but not Harold. Considering my generation, which of my family names of my cousins would be unusual now? I can’t remember teaching any children with the following names
- Elizabeth
- Dennis
- Christine
- Shirley
- Rosemary
…and then my children’s era, which are the unusual names, or haven’t my family chosen many?

Well, they all seem fairly well-known… and obviosuly tehy woudl be because they are of the modern generation! And now, good heavens! Grandchildren! There are names now which would be unheard of in my parents generation

It is interesting to see the roll of names and sense the changing eras. Reminds me a bit of the classroom, first thing! I just missed the little punctuations of “here.”

LOL! yes, me too! When i was a teacher and trying to call the register with a noisy class i would always whisper and they would whisper back automatically… then I’d have a nice quiet class to start my lesson!
