In Time…

I can’t tell you how excited I am!! And not just me, there are so many friends who are on the edges of their seats with anticipation, hardly able to contain themselves waiting for February 4th… or February 26th for those poor souls in the US…

So why? What’s it all about… What’s coming will definitely be in time… or should I say In Time…

Yes, the best band in the world, The Mavericks, are releasing a new CD. I was at their brilliant gig on Tuesday night and they played several of the new numbers which are destined to be classics in their repertoire! The fourteen songs were written or co-written by Raul Malo, and he also co-produced the album with Niko Bolas. They are incredibly talented musicians, but you really have to hear their music to understand how different they are from any one else. I’m so looking forward to the CD, the track listings are:

I know there are some people who have never heard of The Mavericks… I urge you to remedy that by finding them on Youtube, or better still buying their CSDs because you will really enjoy listening to them – it’s impossible not to, and it is barely possible not to leap from your seat and start dancing! It is hard to classify them, Latin country-rock, maybe, as described in an article by Simon O’Hagen that I posted yesterday “Latin-infused country rock, served up by musicians who have honed their sound to perfection.”

One of the great things about the band is the way they bring people together, some of my best friends have been introduced to me by their music…
