A stony smile

This strange rock is called puddingstone, and sometimes plum-pudding stone because that’s what it looks as if it’s made of! It’s a  conglomerate, a sedimentary rock which a mixture of lots of different types of rock squidged together  with a sort of cement all around them. This rock made up the steps up to the church of St John the Evangelist in Axbridge, rather attractive, I think.
