I know I’m strange and maybe lucky, and maybe I am not as sensitive to pain as others.. but I like going to the dentist. I’m fortunate to have quite strong teeth, just as well considering the amount of eating I do, but I have had the usual amount of work done.. but even so, I like going to the dentist… ok so our present dentist is really dishy, but about thirty years younger than me, and anyway lying with your feet pointing to the ceiling and your mouth gaping open isn’t the most attractive angle to be viewed from… but it’s not the dentist, it’s the whole thing. I have been lucky with my dentists, all have been great at their profession and have looked after me and my family well.
I like the magazines in the waiting room, I like the fact that unlike the doctor’s surgery, dentist seem to run on time and keep to their appointments, I like the friendly and pleasant receptionists, I like the smell of the surgery (yes, really.) I like lying back, totally relaxed, eyes shut, Classic FM playing gently (dentists always have Classic FM playing) I like the taste of the pink mouth wash – not so keen on the blue one, and I love the feel of my teeth when the appointment is over.
I don’t just like going to the dentist, I love going to the dentist!

I love the buzzer and the clove oil aroma at the dentist. And like you, love the feel of my teeth afterwards… must make an appointment! 😉

My “dishy” dentist played modern, chilled out music and held my hand while undertaking painful procedures… Maybe I had a small crush. Finding a replacement of this calibre is difficult, but you’ve given me faith that it it possible. PS is that you in the photo, it’s a great photo!

At the dentist, the Classic FM was automatically switched on when she started using the equipment.
