We had such a lot of rain over the last eight to ten months that our garden is totally sodden; added to that, the cold, miserable weather has not encouraged anything to grow, not even weeds!
At last the season has changed, it is warmer, the air is milder and gentle, the rain seems softer, and we have sun!! Yes, we have a great big golden thing up in the sky! So we have dug over a small part of the shared allotment we have acquire, planted some spuds and some onions, transplanted a couple of apple trees, and planted some seedlings – OK, I confess that we bought them at a nursery, but all the seeds we planted failed. However, we have planted some mores seeds, which I hope will soon show signs of germination on a nice warm window sill!
We have such ambition with our garden – having to watch the pennies we want it to save us money as well as giving us delicious home-grown produce!
