WRITER
I really like the city of Birmingham, and even though I was leaving it after a wonderful weekend, I liked being in the heart of the place on the platform of the new New Street Station.
The station was first built sometime between the 1840’s and 50’s to replace earlier stations which had served the town.
It was a lovely day, the sky was blue with fluffy clouds exactly the shape a child might draw them. The sun was warm and waited for my train.

Your post brought back memories of good times in Birmingham when my sis was there for years! Such an interesting city, I loved exploring it and of course, it was too close to the Cadbury factory to miss going there!

My daughter wants to visit Cadbury World… the actual factory has been pulled down now – we went past it today and it was a sad sight.
