Fowey

For the early years of his life my husband was brought up in the pretty little Cornish fishing town of Fowey, pronounced, Foy. When we can we get back there, and a couple of weeks ago when we were in Plymouth we decide to deviate on the way home and show our friends Fowey. The sun was shining and it was glorious.

We spent the day there, wandering round the little streets, went down by the harbour, we visited the museum and a craft fair, and we had a Cornish pasty for lunch. Fowey has been a port and harbour for hundreds of years but sadly, as with other places in Cornwall there is not the employment that there used to be. One of the main industries now is tourism so it was good to see the town so full of visitors, helping the local economy – and enjoying themselves!
