I’ve joined a site where we post a photo every day… and there are some sensational photographers. I’m not a great photographer but I do like taking photos and I do like some of the photos I take. The other day I posted a picture I took when I was in Iceland which I really like… I like it as a picture and I like it because it reminds me of a wonderful few days.
I went there with my Gaelic group, exploring the connections between the two islands, Ireland and Iceland. We stayed in Reykjavik, and as well as exploring the city a little, we also did a few trips out to some of the famous sights, not too far from the city. We went in February so the weather was not wonderful, but we hoped to catch the Northern Lights… sadly we missed the Aurora Borealis, but we did catch a snow storm and some other amazing things… altogether a wonderful holiday… but leaving me wanting more!
One memorable day we went to Akranes just along the coast… it snowed, but I saw a live wild raven and saw some amazing boats, old and new in the harbour there. The town e=was closed… we saw not a single person, but it didn’t matter… a great day!

How crisp your photograph is Lois! Lovely in that light.

It was such a curious light – there was a mighty snow storm brewing (which caught us moments later) but for just a few minutes there was a burst of quite strong sun!

That explains why the boats look almost like cardboard cut-outs! What an experience that must have been.
