I have acquired a couple of bags of broken biscuits; it seems a shame to waste them or just throw them out for the birds, so I thought I would try t find a recipe to use them, something other than the yummy fridge cake made with biscuits, melted chocolate and whatever sweet and yummy stuff you have to hand… I found a cheesecake base using them, a sprinkle for ice cream… and that is about it.
I will make a fridge cake and I’ll take it to our English conversation class tomorrow… but what else could I use them for? We don’t eat cheesecake, nor do we entertain and could give it to our gusts, we don’t eat ice cream to sprinkle it on… I’m running out of ideas now… treacle tart, one recipe said, instead of breadcrumbs – but imagine the sugar and calories in that! I did once make some chocolate truffle type sweetie things… but how fattening… um… I’m running out of ideas now.
Inspiration! We have some apples in the freezer, I could make an apple crumble, using a biscuit topping!! I will try this and let you know how successful, or not, it is!

If Indian chat is on the menu, broken biscuit crumbs make a great topping for those:)

And I thought you liked those poor little birds. They deserve a treat too.

We give them nuts and some sort of disgusting dried worm things (yuk)… don’t want fat birdies!
