Was Charlie Chaplin on the Titanic?

I’m not sure if the trigger for this question was an urban myth, but apparently, some people think Charlie Chaplin was on the Titanic, but was taken off by pilot-boat or a cutter of some sort before it embarked on its journey across the Atlantic, which did not end up on the shores of the USA, but on the bottom of the ocean. What is certain is that Chaplin sailed on the SS Nomadic,  the original tender ship to the Titanic, which was also built at Harland and Wollf in Belfast. It is now fully and beautifully restored and you can see it if you visit Northern Ireland’s great capital city. Maybe the two stories – Nomadic a tender for the Titanic, and Chaplin on board the Nomadic blended into this misapprehension that the silent movie star was on the doomed ship.

There are some metal figures at The Titanic Quarter, including a shipyard worker from Belfast, a French seaman, and Charlie Chaplin, perhaps the Nomadic’s most famous passenger, among all its famous passengers!

So the answer to the question ‘was Charlie Chaplin on the Titanic?’ is ‘NO!
