What a day!

We live in a brick house with a tile roof; it’s about thirty years old and at the moment we are being buffeted by wind which shakes the double-glazed windows and rattles the doors. There are things flying around in the garden, parts of the greenhouse no doubt, and the apple tree we planted about nine years ago and is quite a decent size is thrashing about as if it’s going to lose all its branches.

We live very near the sea, and our house faces straight down the road, and across the boatyard and fields to the sea. The wind is coming from the south-west and hitting us four-square. We’ve lived here for twelve years and I have never known anything like it.

It is St Valentine’s day, and we have had a very nice day inside, and had a very nice meal, and are now enjoying a very nice glass or two of Rioja. I’m feeling tired and a little at a loose end… I published my new novel, Radwinter today, and have been working hard to publicise it… but I feel a little lonely as the story of Thomas Radwinter and his search to find his ancestors is finished… and I miss Thomas!

Maybe I should have another glass of wine and raise a glass to him, to Thomas! Cheers!
