After a period of producing some really lovely soup which tasted yum, and had the right texture… I had somewhat of a disaster today. Everything should have been fine; fresh vegetables, not overcooked, great texture… but thin tasting and with a strange bitter after-taste which I can’t identify. I tried adding some extra flavourings, even added a little honey t counteract the bitterness, but no, it remained stubbornly… not very nice.
I must not lose heart! I must try again! I must remember lovely soups I’ve made!

Try adding some MSG. 1,000,000 Chinese restaurants can’t be wrong.
