The Bachelor Inn

We didn’t g in the bachelor Inn… well, one of our party did and enjoyed a fine couple of pints of Guinness, but the other two of us were on a bus somewhere in Dublin. The Bachelor Inn which is on the corner of Bachelor Walk, is a fine old pub… maybe we all should visit next time. We had spotted it earlier in the day when we had a coffee at a little place next door, and we were fascinated b the quotations written all over the walls. It is situated on the Dublin Quays, overlooking the River Liffey and near O’Connell Bridge and is apparently one of the oldest pubs in the city. The area along the banks of the river was first settled by Vikings and many interesting items, including remains of Viking men and women, but there were other quays built over the centuries since those Scandinavian long boats drew up the river.
