I saw a recipe recently for a very nice sounding salad consisting of carrots, beetroot, raisins, and dressed with lemon juice… but I can’t remember where I saw it, or what was properly in it. I thought it might be in the weekend newspapers, or on Facebook, or somewhere but I just can’t track it down. The person whose recipe it was said they were really into raw vegetables, and I am too, so this seemed particularly interesting!
I have some beetroot so I thought I would have a go anyway; I added a little onion and a few chopped celery leaves, and there may have been pine nuts in the original recipe, but I can’t quite remember. The result, however was yummy!
- finely grated raw beetroot, carrot, onion, in the proportions of 2+2+1/2
- a handful of raisins
- a really good squirt of lemon juice
- pomegranate molasses
- chopped celery leaves
- sea salt and coarsely ground black pepper

Did you get the freezer fixed and what was the problem? I’m a techie with a need to know.

Apparently the gas all leaked out and the compressor has stopped working – even though it’s only 18 months old. The store we got it from has replaced it though, and we take delivery of a nice new one tomorrow!

That’s where the hole in the ozone layer came from. I hope Al Gore doesn’t catch wind of this. Sound carries further in freon, ergo all those noises the other night. Jeez I’m sharp today!
