English tea

I bought some English tea today… I don’t mean tea which has been blended to give a particular brew, and I don’t mean tea which is made to English tastes, and I don’t mean tea which is made by a Mr or Mrs English. I mean English tea, tea which is grown in England… yes, tea which is grown in England!

Tregothnan tea is grown on an estate in Cornwall which goes back to the 1300’s, seven hundred years ago which was home to the Boscowans. It is to the east of Truro, and has plantations in various locations down almost to Lands End. The first tea was produced here in 2005, and now it is available locally here! On the back of the sachet containing the tea bag is a little quote from Heroux Bernard-Paul: “There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea.” How true!
