And we’re off! Competitors are limbering up their pens, sharpening their WPCs, flexing their writing muscles, ready to accept the 50,000 word challenge… yes, to write 50,000 words of a new novel in November. I think I’m going to struggle to this year as there are various things I’m committed to which I will have to write round, trip to London, couple of shows including Ásgeir and Paul Hollywood (I can’t think of two more dissimilar shows!) and a trip to Iceland…. yes off to Iceland! There should be plenty of inspiration there!
I still haven’t decided what to write… to continue the story of Thomas Radwinter, which seems an easy option but would i do better to take a break from him and his genealogical adventures, or would I achieve a better continuity with the characters and ‘his’ style of writing? Should I rewrite the old story of family revenge and a disputed will? I wouldn’t even have the old version open, I’d just rewrite it from memory… Or should I plunge into something completely new?
I’ll tell you tomorrow on day 2!

Why on earth would you go to Iceland? I can’t think of any place I’d rather not go unless the north pole.

I went there two years ago and loved it!! it was so interesting! I’m really into Icelandic fiction at the moment so I’ll look out for the places mentioned in the stories I’ve read!
