I’ve never had a dragon fruit before – it looks magnificent but to be honest the taste was a little bland… Perhaps I ate it in the wrong way, just spooned from its skin… maybe there is something else I could have done…. Wouldn’t it make spectacular ice-cream!!!

Nope that’s how it is. tastes like its just water with the smallest hint of flavour.

I find this tastes better in Asia than it does when I get it around here…

I’m sure you’re right, Victo… many fruits are picked before they are properly ripe and are supposed to ‘ripen’ as they travel… and they never do!

They sell these at the entrance to the Boqueria market in Barcelona and all the tourists buy them, only to discover, as you have, that they don’t taste of anything!!! It happened to me too.

Huh! I thought the flesh was supposed to be white? Well, perhaps that’s a different type of dragon fruit. The white-fleshed one is sweet and amazing, but yeah, I prefer them in Asia.

Well we bought them and i thought the flesh was going to be pink but my son and husband had seen pictures of white ones… they hoped they would taste like vanilla ice-cream!
