Translate

On-line translation sites are brilliant although you do have to be careful, obviously because things may be literally translated… which can cause hilarity, confusion or offensive. However, sometimes translating something, say on Google translate, can give a delightful result.

As you may know I really like a Swedish band called The Glade, and would love to see them live… sadly I don’t think this will ever happen as I have no plans to visit Sweden!

They are going to be supporting another band on Saturday, on the 8th of November. The band is called My Neice, and I don’t know much about them, but they put out this advert for the gig:

Nu kryper vi ut ur studiomörkret och ner i ett annat mörker – Snövits källare – för skivsläpp och releasespelning på vårt favoritställe Club Probation. Köp en öl av Nettan Enander och njut av My Niece bästa låtar hittills, snacka med producent Cris och kanske få en autograf på armen av Krusse… Med oss denna kväll har vi hjältarna från the Glade som kommer köra ett stämningsfullt opluggat set för att inleda denna ljuvliga afton. Välkommen in i vårt ljusa mörker!

Now, I don’t know any Swedish at all so I put it through a translation page and this is the lovely result:

Now we crawl out of the studio and into the darkness of another night – Snow White’s cellar – for the album release and release gig at our favorite place Club Probation. Buy a beer of Nettan Enander and enjoy My Niece’s best songs to date, chat with producer Cris and maybe get an autograph on the arm of Krusse … With us this evening we have heroes from the Glade which will run an atmospheric opluggat set to begin this lovely evening. Welcome into our bright darkness!

“Welcome to our bright darkness!” Isn’t that amazing?

I can’t find any music by My Neice, but here is the Glade:
