Cut off!

I was just about to write a blog this morning, before doing some on-line research for my latest novel and catching up on social media and my emails… when, oh no!! The internet went down! We rang our provider when it became clear that it wasn’t going to sort itself out and after a little diagnostic testing the lady on the other end of the phone told us there was a fault on the line and it might take up to forty-eight hours to sort it out! What? What?? What???

Oh well, I thought, I can still do my writing… but oh dear, I won’t be able to keep in touch with my daughter who is in the USA, nor my friends with whom we’re planning a  Mavericks tour tour, or write my blog, or find out any of the gazillion things I look up every day, read mail, keep up with the news… oh dear!

I was resigned, but a bit fed up and also wryly amused at how dependent I have become on it… how many things I just take for granted that I can do, until suddenly i can’t! Well,as you might guess, yes it’s back, yes I am in touch with the world again!
