UPHILL APRIL 2016 (19)… rhyne, an old word for stream or old drainage ditch, here you can see it running past the coastguard cottages…

The Uphill Great Rhyne runs through our village and out into the sea. Here’s an interesting explanation of the etymology of the word – even though they say it’s rhine, not rhyne!:
