My life in eight objects…

In various newspapers and magazines, celebrities are interviewed to reveal something about their lives in a certain number of objects. For example, Ben Fogle chose:

  • boots
  • shark repellent
  • books
  • axe.
  • shell sculpture
  • water bottle
  • watch
  • teddies

…Lucy Worsley chose:

  • red dress
  • eighteenth-century shoes
  • crown
  • the young Elizabeth book
  • hobby-horse
  • childhood photograph
  • Tudor pysse pot
  • minuet shoes

… and Simon Callow chose:

  • an engraving of Callow’s great-great-grandfather
  • the actor Charles Laughton’s mask from his performance in The Hunchback of Notre Dame
  • a 17th century Chinese horse sculpture
  • a Buddha
  • a portrait of Charles Dickens
  • the theatre actor Micheál Macliammóir’s ring
  • Christopher Isherwood signed books

So what would I choose? This is just a random thought, off the top of my head…

  • a photo of me and my family
  • my computer
  • Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by John le Carré
  • a set of measuring spoons
  • a Mavericks CD
  • my great-grandfather’s visiting card
  • a pint beer mug
  • a seashell
