Cheerio Yellow Pages

I just saw a news item, I don’t know if it is true, but Yellow Pages classified directory is going to cease to be published. Good grief!! No Yellow Pages!!

Apparently the idea of printing on yellow rather than white was a decision born of necessity when in 1883, a printer in Cheyenne, Wyoming who was printing a directory ran out of the white paper. The first purpose printed yellow paper directory arrived three years later in 1886 when a Mr Reuben H. Donnelley published the first official Yellow Pages directory.

I guess many people will think of Yellow Pages and think of some classic adverts:

Everything is changing too fast! Let me off at the next stop. Too much knowledge and power concentrated in too few hands. Sounds like an old Chinese curse. [ May you live in interesting times ]
