On the juke box in the pub tonight

We wandered down for a quick one and found the pub fairly busy. We sat down in the cross-benches as our usual place was full and sat chatting and catching up with each other. There’s a very varied selection of songs on the juke box and Dolly Parton floated through, followed by Green Day, and then the still funny Benny Hill song ‘Ernie, the fastest milkman in the west‘. It must have been golden oldies night because next we had the old Ronnie Hilton song….

A windmill with a mouse in and he wasn’t grousing
He sang every morning, “How lucky I am,
Living in a windmill in old Amsterdam”
Chorus:
I saw a mouse
Where?
There on the stair
Where on the stair?
Right there
A little mouse with clogs on
Well, I declare
Going clip clippity clop on the stair
Oh yeah…

We all had a bit of a groan, but worse was to come, ‘Little White Bull’ by Tommy Steele… good grief!

Luckily we were saved:
