Earwords

Earworms are a thing, are earwords? You know what an earworm is, where a random piece of music or song gets stuck in your brain and plays continually:

An earworm, sometimes known as a brainworm, sticky music, stuck song syndrome, or Involuntary Musical Imagery (IMI), is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person’s mind after it is no longer playing.

I get earwords. For a long time I had nematode which wouldn’t leave me. A nematode is a tiny wormlike creature, and why i should ever have thought of it, I have no idea but the word lodged in my mind. It comes from Latin meaning threadlike, and maybe they are, I have no idea, never having seen one. More recently Sima Kotecha has been my earword; I don’t know anything about her except she is a BBC radio journalist – I think.

Do other people have earwords? I’ve looked it up and can’t find anything about it, so maybe I am unique. It is mildly irritating but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s annoying. When i wrote about earworms I shared what was then playing on my mental radio, here it is:
