Sadly I am nearing the end of the wonderful wheel of Tintern cheese I won in a competition run by the fantastic Welsh Cheese Company. We’ve enjoyed it at lunch with bread or crackers, in muffins and scones, on toast, in jacket potatoes, and a couple of days ago I made roast vegetables and added chinks of onion, chive and shallot flavoured Tintern cheese to them once they came out of the oven – so the cheese just melted into delicious blobs of yum.
I’d gone a little mad with the amount of vegetables, so I had some left for my lunch today. Yesterday my daughter had made sesame sticky chicken and she rather over-estimated the amount of rice we would eat so there was some left over. Left over cheesy veg, left over rice, a perfect partnership! As I was writing the title above, I was reminded of The Fast Show, a comedy sketch show which ran from 1994 to 1997, There was a recurring character who was always fantastically excited about everything, especially Cheesy-Peas…

oooh cheesy peas with Tintern!
