April 30th 2021, would have been Captain Tom Moore’s one hundred and first birthday, and in recognition of that, a new challenge has been announced that ordinary folk should try to complete a hundred somethings to raise more funds for The Captain Tom Foundation. My own challenge is to write over a hundred days, a 100 word blog each day.
Day 16
A fox ran across the road, a dark flash in the pouring rain. Fox hasn’t been around recently, not heard the screeching calls, not seen the sudden stillness of a figure pausing to assess the danger, harmless or harmful, not even seen bins overturned, rubbish mauled and scattered. A week or so ago, on the other side of town, driving along our local corniche, we saw a mother and her baby, it determined to cross the road, a small tufty creature, she gently guiding it back to safety. She was thin, her own fur shabby unlike her fluffy tottering cub.
