Once more in a railway carriage

I have such very vivid dreams, and as with many people, I rarely remember more than fleeting images. My dreams are nearly always bright and sunny, often walking through unknown towns or cities, bustling and busy, and often with towering old buildings of red sandstone. Quite often I’m climbing exterior staircases, or crossing narrow footbridges, but without any fear, only interest and excitement. When I wake up, if the dream is still hovering I try to jot down the bones of it. Now, I’m always fascinated by other people’s dreams, but if you’re not, then don’t read the next paragraphs!

I dreamt of walking through the countryside, through a hilly area with views of valleys lit by sunshine. I caught a bus , in a bus,  travelling with other people through a city. Maybe it was old and in ruins lit by  bright sunshine with a very blue sky. I had borrowed a jacket but I forgot to return it – a fleece, its  lining was a tartan style in blues and red. I was in interesting  conversations with people, and maybe one was the person I was travelling with. I became mildly frustrated for some reason, maybe because I was doing all the listening and not able to interject to speak. There was some difficulty or hold-up but I wasn’t panicking. At some point we were on a ferry-boat across a river, or maybe we were in a train with open carriages. Off the ferry/train and it seemed as if I was endlessly trailing after whoever I was with – and even at the time I didn’t know where they were. I remember interesting conversations with strangers, before I nodded off to sleep, once more in a railway carriage.

Very strange, and with no significance or meaning for me!

    Hi Lois
my first idea reading your dream was ‘on the road’ (like Kerouac?). A lot of movement in your dream …
I suppose, it’s all about you and your connection to the outside world. But anyway, that’s not the place here for dream interpretation.
    All the best
