Something or nothing

Gosh, it has been a hard battle, for all sorts of reasons, but at last, my next Radwinter book is about to go out into the world. I’m just tidying up the details such as blurb, intro, dedication, bits and pieces, before I order a proof copy for myself, and then… and then… As usual I’m struggling for a title – I’ve rejected “All at Sea” even though it seems the most suitable as Thomas feels all at sea, and he’s investigating the disappearance of a friend’s husband who might have been washed away by the sea. I’m now wondering whether “Something or Nothing” might be better. I’ve looked it up on Amazon, and yes, there are three other books called that, as well as several more called “Something For Nothing” which definitely wouldn’t fit. I’ve written the blurb – which I will review tomorrow before finally uploading it –

Thomas Radwinter is only accepting very ordinary commissions now, having promised his wife he’d never put himself in danger again, especially as his family is increasing. He takes on a search for an elderly lady who’s disappeared – has she just moved away without a farewell to friends and neighbours, but why would she abandon her beloved dog Tony? Thomas promises to help a dear friend find the answer to the mystery of her missing husband. Was he swept away in a terrible storm ten years ago, or did he walk away from her and his beloved daughter? And what is the secret of  the abandoned white hotel? Thomas has his own problem – an annoying double keeps getting into trouble – and into drunken fights. Things take a strange turn for Thomas when he’s involved in an accident with a flying cow… and what is the mystery of the White House Hotel?

I have yet to settle on a cover photo, maybe a turbulent sea, maybe a spooky forest, maybe I can find a free photo or a semi-derelict Swiss cottage – you can be sure that as soon as I’ve decided there will be a sneak preview here!
