Great news!!! It’s been far too long in the making, and although there were reasons, really there should be no excuses! My news is that my latest Thomas Radwinter novel is now available as a Kindle book and as an actual physical, real, hold in your hand book. It was a long time ago that I first wrote about Thomas Radwinter, a genealogical mystery as I described it. He was unhappily married but his life changed when he was invited round to his brother’s for a pre-Christmas party. His brother asked him to investigate the family tree, and this set Thomas on a journey which as I’ve mentioned, literally changed his life in a way he would never have imagined. This book “Radwinter”, was supposed to be a one-off, stand-alone, but Thomas had become such a real character in my mind, that he had to investigate his mother’s family history. This was recounted in “Magick”, and although he traced his mother’s story, there were other mysteries which he came across, and which he unravelled in other books. It came to a point – or I came to a point, when I felt the family story-lines began to overwhelm the other aspects – the mysteries, the challenges he was set, and so I sent his family on holiday and I sent Thomas to Athelmond Grange. This was what you might call a closed house mystery – Athelmond Grange was cut off by snow and Thomas was set to solve a hundred year old tragedy. It ended up a more dangerous mission than he had anticipated, and several more recent mysteries to solve.
“Something or Nothing” is set in 2020, before the world locked down, and what seems like quirky but harmless assignments lead him once again into danger. I’ve mentioned here the struggle I’ve had with this book, not just me, but tech difficulties, and personal issues too. However, all is now well in my world, thank goodness, and I hope in Thomas’s too. I’m not sure if he will have more adventures, I have other things to write, other stories to finish – poor Gus who’s forever wandering the salt marshes and sitting on his own in the pub. Then there’s Frederico whose father-in-law is convinced he murdered his wife (Frederico’s wife) and enlists the aid of a local thug to try and find the truth, oh and some family stories to pull together somehow, and a new collection of my other short stories, and an anthology of my twenty random word challenge stories…
