You may remember my post about the new recipe I tried for our Christmas cake this year,
http://loiselden.com/2012/11/22/christmas-cake/
… the recipe for the mixture had instruction for the traditional fruit and nuts to be marinated in rum then blitzed in a blender, before adding a lot of eggs and not much flour, and loads and loads more rum. Well, we got the rum ok! …
Well, today we sampled it, and I have to say that it was one of the strangest cakes I have ever eaten. When I unwrapped it to decorate, it was a soggy lump of cake-shaped goo. It looked ok-ish when I put the glazed nuts on and sprinkled it with silver balls, icing snowballs, and icing snow crystals.
We cut each of us a slice… it still looked like gooey fudge… alcoholic gooey fudge, and it tasted ok… maybe we should warm it up and have it as dessert with ice-cream, cream or custard?

Hmm. Perhaps not the most glamorous-looking texture! It was as you expected – fudge.

I’m thinking of rolling it into balls and covering it with cocoa and calling tehm truffles!

Sounds like another version of the earlier recipe which became sesame-coated somethings! That was savoury wasn’t it?

LOL! I must have a thing about transformation… hmmm, not good, let me change its shape then it will taste deliciousness! Oh and I will cover it in sesame seeds or cocoa or maybe chilli powder – it will taste magnificent!
