2013, how exciting! I wonder what surprises the year has in store I know that two cousins and a dear friend will become grandmothers again but I wonder how many more new little lives will begin this year among family and friends?
I know later this month I am going to fly to Glasgow with my friend Elly to see the Mavericks! At the same time I’ll meet up with other friends including Hannah and Jenna, and hope to have lunch with my cousin Will who I haven’t seen for…. oooooh, such a long time! I also hope ‘Night Vision’ will be published!

February I shall be home for St Valentine’s Day – last year I was in Iceland, and on the last weekend of March will be the beginning of the family holiday in Devon. By the time we go away with our cousins, I should be at teh last stage of editing my next book… but what will it be? I have a feeling it might be ‘Flipside’ – but we must all wait and see!
In April it will be my sister’s special birthday and in May we will be going to the Netherlands to celebrate a very special ruby wedding anniversary! The beginning of May is also the family get-together in memory of my dear aunty, Beryl. In June the children will be home from University, my daughter hopes to work abroad in the summer, possibly Australia, my son hopes to be working proabably on the Grand Pier.

July used to be that magic time for teachers, the end of the long summer term and the beginning of the welcome summer holidays… this year we are not constrained for going away by work, only by finance We live by the sea, we have a lovely garden, let’s hope for a gorgeous summer when we can be outside!
August should be another time of harvesting from the garden, eating lunch outside, walking up the hill, out over the levels, or by the sea… if it’s raining we will be creative indoors, writing and painting! I think novel number five will be out by now, ‘A Strong Hand From Above’ maybe? I’m sure I will be working hard on my new Radwinter book, and finishing the story of the Portbraddens, and also Frederico Milan – poor Frederico, he must find out what happened to his missing wife, his father-in-law is convinced he murdered her and is after him!
September, and our children will return to University and we will settle back into being Derby and Joan. maybe we might take a little holiday break… Cornwall, France, who knows?
October, our wedding anniversary; I love bright autumn weather, the trees changing colour against pellucid skies, the last fruit being picked, vegetables being pulled and pickles and chutneys made.

November – good heavens, our son will be twenty-one! Can this be possible?
December, Christmas, such a special time of year!

You already have 2013 mapped out Lois! Exciting times ahead.

Ooh, an exhibition, how exciting! My oldest friend is an artist, and now she’s given up teaching she’s doing it full time, http://www.frankiepartridge.co.uk/ – we always try and get to her exhibitions.
Another friend has always been a professional artist and is now also becoming a singer! http://roscuthbert.co.uk/
