One of the funniest comedians, along with his short fat friend Ernie Wise, was Eric Morecambe. He is commemorated in Morecambe from which he took his stage name as he was originally Eric Bartholomew. There is a wonderful statue of him on Morecambe seafront, and I guess my husband Bari is one of the few people who can easily rest his arm on the statue’s shoulder because of his height! Bari is also a very funny man, and I love this picture!

I’d love to visit this statue in real life, shame they don’t put them on TV any more… I’m only 30 but they were part of my childhood Sunday afternoons too! 🙂
