Someone has to live here…

We were at Rye Harbour… which is actually a village outside the town of Rye. We saw this lovely little cottage, Ship Cottage, and I couldn’t resist taking a photo because I know that sooner or later one of my characters is going to live in it! Rye Harbour is on the River Rother near where it flows into the English Channel and as well as lots of leisure boats and yachts there are working fishing vessels. There is a lifeboat station and a memorial in the local church to the seventeen brave  lifeboat men of the Mary Stanford Lifeboat who lost their lives in the dreadful tragedy of November 1928. There is a Martello Tower in the village, just near the nature reserve. We didn’t have time to explore but I would love to return to do so…

In the meantime… who is going to live in this pretty cottage?
