Cat photo

DSCF6246This was taken by young master Smirnoff; he is our neighbours’ cat, but he thinks he owns us. He visits from time to time, and he is a very handsome cat. He somehow managed to get this photo. I had my phone in my hand and he moved and I took this photo as he jogged my hand.

When I was still living in Kent my neighbour’s two cats constantly invaded my home – her 17-year-old tom cat thought sleeping under the desk in my office was the closest thing to kittie-heaven…although sometimes he’d choose to sleep in my shopping bags in the kitchen. Every evening upon returning from work I had to evict her cats – my own cat was getting really fed up with those interlopers sneaking in through the cat flap.

I had a cat called Mork once. He would climb up my leg when I came home from work and gaze into my eyes and actually faint in my arms from love and afffection. He would talk to me as if I understood what adventures he was talking about. When my ex wife left she took Mork with her just to spite me. Mork starved himself to death and died of a broken heart. I’ll never forget him as he was truly a friend. Love you Mork.
