Going to Bristol

It’ a lovely day, for a change… so far I think May has got confused with itself; we’ve been battered by march-like winds, and swamped with April-like showers – not literally swamped thank goodness, but it has been very, very rainy.Today we have sunshine.

We’re going to Bristol because there are a couple of shops we like to go to for provisions, olive oil, seeds, nuts, pickled Chinese mustard green… and there is also a good Amnesty International bookshop, and plenty of places for a decent cup of coffee. However, the main reason I am going today is to visit a Turkish shop where I hope I will be able to buy some pomegranate molasses; a cook I very much admire posted a lovely, fresh sounding salad recipe including tomatoes, herbs, pomegranate syrup and walnuts… I have everything but the molasses!

I hope that I will be posting a photo of a delicious gavurdagi salad!
