In my MOOC about Shipwrecks and Submerged Worlds, I’ve had to really think again about things I took for granted. Most people accept the idea that people travelled across the frozen Bering Strait during the last Ice Age from Asia to North America about ten thousand years ago. But supposing, just supposing, that two thousand years previously Polynesian peoples had regularly visited South America?
