Sugar pie, honey bunch

Popped down to the pub for the last three-quarters of an hour, a pint of Otter and a glass of  Shiraz, sitting chatting about nothing in particular, and then from the other bar came the sound of the juke box and The Four Tops singing ‘I Can’t Help Myself’ – and I was immediately transported back to Manchester when I was a student there.

We used to go to various discos and clubs and although and although it was years old, a favourite track was ‘I Can’t Help Myself” – sugar pie, honey bunch, you know that I love you, I can’t help myself, I love you and no-one else’ … I was there with my friends dancing and having such a wonderful time…

I know!!! As I listened to it I could just see Mike dancing!! As I’ve mentioned befoe, I always promised myself I’d have a completely biryani to myself at the Plaza when I could afford it… that day never came. Is it still there? or does it only live on in cockroach curry dreams?
