April 30th 2021, would have been Captain Tom Moore’s one hundred and first birthday, and in recognition of that, a new challenge has been announced that ordinary folk should try to complete a hundred somethings to raise more funds for The Captain Tom Foundation. My own challenge is to write over a hundred days, a 100 word blog each day.
Day 15
What can I see from my window? Looking across the pile of books on the window sill, I see the back garden. There’s a square of lawn, clothes-line, a bed at the back, and then a cream, ivy and honey-suckle clad wall. To one side is a wooden garage, beyond that an overgrown raised-bed, another wall, a mass of bramble and a prickly hedge, and then the public path leading to the rest of the village. Dominating the garden by the back wall, next to the summer-house, is a mighty, anonymous tree which bears black flowers – when the summer comes.
