It was writing group today, a monthly get together for Writers in Stone to share what they have written on a theme we decided on in the previous meeting. Today’s topic was ‘atmosphere’ – which could mean lots of things, from scientific (and there are seven layers of atmosphere to think about) to the atmosphere in social situations, to the atmosphere created by writers in their work. I wrote about this yesterday, and shared here:

Having written my blog, I then settled down to write the story, which I did and was quite pleased with. No doubt I will look at it again and tweak bits of it here and parts of it there. So I was awake early, feeling smug at having my story, and looking forward to getting together with everyone, catching up with their news, listening to their stories, and sharing mine. All was well until I realised that in fact all was not well – I was feeling somewhat queasy. Long story short, I didn’t feel well enough to join the writers, so sent my story to be read at the gathering, and snuggled back in bed, sleeping, dozing, feeling bleagh, and drinking tea. It was pretty much something and nothing, and by late afternoon I felt back to normal (as normal as I’m likely to be) So here I am, thinking that somehow I’ve lost a day, wide awake but knowing I should be heading for bed, feeling a little miffed that I didn’t see my writing chums.
I would just like to repeat my other news, that the Kindle version of my latest Thomas Radwinter book is available here:
and that tomorrow, if all goes well, the paperback will also be available!!
