Exciting news!!! I’m halfway to launching my next Radwinter book – it’s now available as an e-book and I’ll share the link below. I’ve had some difficulty publishing it as an actual paperback book – for various reasons I publish on Amazon, and for various reasons this time the set-up doesn’t seem to be working, so I’m not absolutely sure whether it’s published or not as real in-your-hands book.
My book is ” Something or Nothing” and it’s the eighth in my Radwinter series and it is available, as I’ve mentioned, as an e-book, and soon as a book book.
Thomas Radwinter is only accepting very ordinary commissions now, having promised his wife he’d never put himself in danger again, especially as his family is increasing. He takes on a search for an elderly lady who’s disappeared – has she just moved away without a farewell to friends and neighbours, but why would she abandon her beloved dog Tony? Thomas promises to help a dear friend to find the answer to the mystery of her missing husband – was he swept away in a terrible storm ten years ago, did something else happen, or did he walk away from her and his beloved daughter? Thomas has his own problem – an annoying double keeps getting in trouble – and in drunken fights. Things escalate for Thomas when he’s involved in an accident with a flying cow… and what is the mystery of the White House Hotel?
This story is set in 2019, before the world was locked down. In case you haven’t read any of Thomas’s previous mysteries, here is how he introduces himself:
My name is Thomas Marcus Pemberton Radwinter.
I was born in 1980, so I’m thirty-nine and next year, 2020, I’ll hit the big four zero! I’m about five foot nine, grey-hazel eyes and dark reddish hair and a beard. I live with my wife, Kylie, our children, and Eli – our live-in friend/au pair/nanny, supported by the invaluable Sveta. We live in Saltpans, a wonderful house overlooking the sea, in the small town of Easthope.
I’m an independent solicitor, but over the last few years, I’ve been asked to do odd little tasks, finding a dodgy Moroccan, investigating a haunted hotel, tracking down a mysterious Tibetan Lama, for example. Most recently, I stayed with an immensely wealthy family, supposedly to undertake genealogical research, but in actual fact to solve a century old crime. This seemingly innocent assignment put me in danger of my life and it all got a bit hairy. I was totally in the dark – and at the end literally so. Thankfully, by good fortune and chance I survived what seemed at the time to be a terminal situation. I escaped, but there were a few more nightmares added to my night-time inventory.
There are four of us Radwinter boys, Marcus who’s fifty-nine, Paul fifty-three, and John who’s forty-six… And then there’s me, the youngest. In 2013, Paul asked me to research our family history and I followed the story of the Radwinters … and what an interesting journey that was; it completely changed my life.
I found the truth about our past and this journey into our recent family history revealed what caused us to have such traumatic childhoods. However, since I started, our lives have changed in the most unexpected ways, new partners, new children, new homes, new us!
I’m a very different man from who I was when I started following our story. I’m still a bit of a bumbling idiot sometimes…. Well, a lot of the time to be honest, but somehow I muddle through.
