Book group Christmas gathering

Despite us not being able to meet in person, our book group had our Christmas gathering today with Santa hats, novelty Christmas earrings, various headgear including a Christmas tree – all on Zoom. As usual I had a quiz – the first round was a picture round, fourteen pictures of writers, play-writes and poets whose initials (either their first or last name) spelt out Merry Christmas. I can’t share those pictures here, but if you google the names you will see what these people looked like – here are the answers:

… and the last ten were about place names to do with Christmas – which five of the following are real actual UK place names:
